Configuring SQL Mail

Hello,
Please pardon my ignorance. I am doing some testing on my local machine (and
then I need to setup a server). I have a mail profile, but when I try to
configure SQL Mail the profile isn't listed. Should it be? When I setup the
server do I need to have Outlook installed? It will be SQL Server 2000.
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it.
Thanks,
NickSee http://www.aspfaq.com/2403 for troubleshooting tips for SQL Mail.
My suggestion, as that article should make clear, would be to use
xp_smtp_sendmail. We use it on all of our production servers and banished
SQL Mail ages ago.
